Longfellow Bungalow
The owners of this charming 1918 home in Minneapolis’s Longfellow neighborhood love bungalows. The design of this addition/remodel features rich natural wood, careful fenestration, and inventive use of small spaces to enhance the home’s Craftsman spirit while providing spaces for modern family living: a mudroom, family room connected to the kitchen, and basement game room. Unique craftsmanship beautifully maximizes function, such as the half-height pocket door which unobtrusively keeps muddy dogs in the mudroom. A new loft bed surprisingly expands a child’s bedroom by taking advantage of unused headroom over the basement stairway.
