Serene, elemental, simple, clean. This existing open-plan home is reformed into a light-filled retreat through a small addition and remodel of select spaces. Design cues follow the owners’ contemporary Asian sensibility: natural, durable materials; layered light; calm details; balance. Multiple modes of natural and artificial light contribute drama and delight, from playfully grouped windows to interior translucent partitions and art glass. Two owners’ baths are renewed as open wet rooms with linear drains, wall mounted fixtures and cantilevered casework.
